I know it’s been a while since I posted so I thought I’d do a little update on what’s been happening in my life.
Right now, I am extremely stressed with some uni work that I still have to complete so I haven’t had too much time to write any posts and any time that I have had I’ve just spent trying to destress and enjoy myself.
Saturday night was Dundee University Grad Ball, and although I’m not graduating, two of my flatmates are and so I decided to go along with them and see what all the hype was about. I rarely go out anymore so I decided that I would go full out for Grad Ball and get my hair, nails and make-up done for the occasion. We also spent a lot of money on alcohol and I was just so excited to spend the night having some nice drinks (gin and wine mostly) with some great girls.
The ball went on from 6pm until 6am and was more like a festival than a ball if I’m honest. There were loads of events, one of which was Boyzlife (a mix of Westlife and Boyzone) and we were all looking forward to a bit of ‘You Raise Me Up’, unfortunately we were a bit disappointed and ended up leaving before they could sing any more than two songs. We spent the night eating burgers and drinking possibly the best mojitos I have ever tasted. There was even a fun fair, free pick n mix and a showing of The Incredibles at 2am on the campus green. It was a fantastic night and a great way to destress.
The following day, we were all surprisingly fresh and decided we didn’t want to waste the sunshine (29 degree heat) lying in bed all day. So we grabbed a disposable barbecue and headed down to Magdalen Green with leftover drinks and some burgers. On that note, I should probably mention that the meat free thing is on hold at the minute until I can sort my eating habits out, but that’s not something I’m going to go into, I’m doing what is right for me at the minute. We sat in the sunshine for hours and I burned to a crisp but it was worth it for the cute pictures.
Last night, Danni and I decided we should do something since we both won’t get the chance to see each other too often over Summer. We ended up going to play crazy golf at Adventure Golf Island in Dunfermline and we managed a drive through Starbucks as well since this was a novelty for us. After I beat Danni 56-68 (with 4 hole-in-ones), we headed back with the intention of going straight back to Dundee so we could move my stuff into my car for moving day on Friday. But the sunset on the drive home was so pretty and we couldn’t resist finding Kinnoul Hill to get some beautiful photos. After climbing for 20 minutes and feeling like we were walking in the wrong direction, we reached a beautiful forest, painted pink by the suns rays. It was so beautiful that we knew we couldn’t turn back. When we eventually reached the hill top, we weren’t disappointed – I think the photos will speak for themselves although they do not do the sunset any justice whatsoever.
